A Strategic Partnership

The Sigma Pool is a strategic partnership which was established in 1991 between, at that time, the four major European gear machine and equipment manufacturers: Klingelnberg GmbH, Liebherr Verzahntechnik GmbH, Maschinenfabrik Lorenz GmbH and Oerlikon Geartec AG. The joint marketing partnership was established in order to provide better services to clients  and to strengthen their existing market position and the partnership has, without doubt, been a complete success story since its inception. SInce the formation, the Lorenz and Oerlikon companies have been taken over by Liebherr and Klingelnberg respectively. The Group provides  not only the complete range of gear / spline cutting, shaping, grinding and measuring equipment,  but also full training programmes, consultation, planning, service and sub-contract manufacturing to many of its World-wide customers. A regular feature of this partnership is the publication of the Sigma Pool Report magazine, which has proven to be very popular with engineers world-wide and is available for download at: Sigma Pool Report 19 or Sigma Pool Report 20

The Sigma Pool Group constantly strives to bring new developments and technology to manufacturing and engineering in order to maintain its position as the leading force in the Global gear industry. A brief summary of some of the technology available is detailed below:
