The Liebherr gear hobbing machine program contains a full production series for gear cutting of up to 10,000mm work-piece diameter. The latest LC Series machines offer a machine concept that is distinguished by its remarkable performance. High power, direct drive, work and hob spindle options provide extensive reserve capacity for future tool developments.The vertical machine concept also offers significant advantages for cutting, loading and clamping systems. The gear hobbing machines are also a universal platform used for shaping machines and for generating / profile grinding technology.

GEAR HOBBING / CUTTING

Using the proven Liebherr modular platform system, with common component groups used on the hobbing & grinding machines, the shaping machines are optimally tailored for universal use. The movable shaping head on the flexible LFS shaping machines enables manufacture of a variety of components with minimal set-up times. With the development of mechanically rigid, thermally stable machines, Liebherr is able to offer the highest level of  performance and accuracy available. With the addition of backlash-free table drives, including gear and direct drive, the machines achieve the highest gear quality and meet all necessary requirements concerning speed and accuracy, representing a future-oriented drive concept.

GEAR SHAPING

Liebherr has been producing gear grinding machines for more than 20 years. The latest version of the generating and profile grinding machines meets all of the stringent demands of industrial production with regard to quality, productivity and reliability. The essential advantage being the universal application of either CBN or corundum grinding wheels including a combination of tooling types and processes. Productivity has been significantly increased with the development of grinding head technology, dresser arrangement, coolant control, meshing systems and auto-loading equipment all focusing on reducing idle times to a minimum.
