WRIGHT MANUFACTURING  SERVICES LIMITED

One of the Junker core competencies is grinding with CBN wheel and machine technology and as a result Junker has developed advanced machine solutions to support manufacture of cylindrical components. With a range of machines including the JUMAT and JUCENTER series Junker offers fast, efficient, grinding technology for bearings, gear shafts, valves, drive shafts etc. The patented QUICKPOINT “peel grinding” technology, based on a point contact grinding process, reduces the grinding forces and therefore the associated clamping systems required.  Additional cylindrical grinding solutions are also available from the universal GRINDOR series of internal/ external grinders.

CYLINDRICAL GRINDING

Junkers extensive experience enables the Company to offer extremely versatile solutions for complete grinding of a range of non-cylindrical components including crankshafts, camshafts, eccentric shafts, ceramic actuators etc. With the flexibility of the JUCRANK, JUCAM and JUCENTER machines a variety of non-cylindrical component features can be ground in a single machine including crankshaft main and pin bearings, camshaft contours (concave, convex. chamfered, radius, polygon etc.). Many of the Junker solutions are customized to your specific needs with consideration to the required production volumes and component specifications.

NON-CYLINDRICAL GRINDING

Centreless OD grinding is available from Junker using the JUPITER machine with either conventional or CBN grinding wheels, depending on the application. The centreless process gives high output due to the durability of the grinding wheels. Only Junker combines these processing methods with CBN wheels, resulting in advantages in productivity, particularly in high volumes. The CBN high speed grinding process offers high stock removal rates maintaining a long wheel life which is a huge advantage in high volume production. Both through-feed and plunge-cut grinding operations can be accommodated on the Junker JUPITER machines.

Erwin Junker Maschinenfabrik GmbH - Nordrach, Germany

Erwin Junker Maschnenfabrik GmbH was established in 1962, by Mr Erwin Junker, originally for tool manufacture and re-sharpening. It began in a former flour mill using waterpower to drive part of the production machinery. Within 10 years the production rate had grown to include more than 30 types of grinding machines and a production area of some 3,000 square meters. The Group has subsequently expanded to some 1,000 employees who are involved in development, sales and production at 12 world-wide sites. Erwin Junker is now a world leading manufacturer of CBN high-speed grinding machines, supplying the majority of the automotive and component suppliers, tool makers and engineering companies around the world.
