The GROB cold forming process is based on a straightforward and universally applicable
fundamental principle: the total forming effort needed to generate splines in sheet
metal workpieces is broken down into numerous forming steps spread along the entire
cylindrical length of the zone to be formed. This means that the forces needed to
achieve superior forming rates and high degrees of deformation are comparatively
low, allowing ready-
As its name implies, this applied technique is strictly a forming process during which no chip forming is involved.
The GROB slotting process is a universal and extremely economical one for stamping, coining and forming of cup and ring shaped sheet metal blanks and preforms.
Typical applications include various slotting/stamping, coining and forming operations on clutch disc carriers in automatic vehicle transmissions / clutch disc carriers in a wide range of hydraulic and magnetic clutches.
Essentially all slotting / stamping, coining and forming operations (bending) of circular sheet metal parts.
The GROB S8 slotting machine is used for this process.
All tools used on GROB machines are developed and manufactured in the in-
