Precision straightening systems are produced mainly for the automotive industry for gear shafts, motors, cam shafts, steering racks, axle shafts, synchronized rings,etc. The machine flexibility can also be applied in the textile industry, for textile spindles and drawing cylinders, and in other typical mechanical applications including electric motors, drills, mould extractor rods, gun barrels, forged bars, profiles and non circular sections.

Straightening systems for shafts, profiles, bars, shapes (rings, forks etc.) are all available with completely automatic set-up (tool positioning, anvil and punch adjustment) with straightening forces available up to 20000 kN. Automation is also integrated with crack detection, part reject, centre cleaning unit, work piece marking and sample magazines.

AUTOMATIC STRAIGHTENING

Galdabini pioneered the use of laser technology for measurement of hollow tube straightening and this technology is now applied in their straightening solutions for tube from 5mm internal diameter and lengths up to 3,500mm. This advanced solution integrates a laser emitter, its specific target and the unique process software which optimizes the accuracy of measurements and the production cycle time. This specific technology is particularly suited where hollowed parts (tubes, pipes) need to be straightened with reference to the internal diameter run-out.

TUBE STRAIGHTENING

The Galdabini automatic RING 4 straightening machine achieves a circularity tolerance of 0,05 mm. The

machine is capable of correcting work-piece ovality and measuring errors of form due to triangularity and quadrangularity. Alignment is detected by means of a transducer measuring system suitable for

measurement of the inside diameter. A pneumatic work-piece clamping unit for ring driving is controlled through a geared motor and high response brushless motor. The clamping units are floating to allow compensation of ovality errors for the straightening operation.
