WRIGHT MANUFACTURING  SERVICES LIMITED

Escofier has created  and developed several technologies for the spline rolling process and the most suitable process is selected dependent on the work-piece specifications. The Incremental® process uses a single tool rotation cycle with resulting short cycle time due to no back rolling of the tool being necessary. The Synchroll® solution, with work-piece driven by the synchronized tooling, enables rolling of long splines (using feed-through systems) as well as helical splines.

The Escofier solutions are established in many areas of production including automotive, aerospace, medical, tooling, electrical equipment etc….

SPLINE & GEAR ROLLING MACHINES

Escofier technology can be applied for cold forming production of threaded and knurled components with low cycle times - low cost per part, high surface quality and high accuracy.

The majority of the known thread form can be rolled using the Escofier process, such as ACME / GAZ / Metric / TRAP / UNJ etc…… Special thread forms and profiles (ball or worm screws) can also be produced, as well as straight or crossed knurling with the MTR and FLEX series machines.

The burnishing technology is used for the improvement of the gear tooth flanks achieving a higher quality compared to the conventional shaving process as well as being a less expensive alternative. The burnishing process is an extremely short cycle time operation and offers benefits related to wear and pitting of the gear teeth.

The process of densification has the same philosophy  as gear finishing of standard steel gearing but applies to sintered materials and can be applied to complex geometries providing improvements to mechanical characteristics and surface finish.
